Scotty got his start in politics walking precincts for candidates and circulating initiatives in local politics. Scotty got involved in politics when the Irvine city council decided to give special rights to a class of people based on who they sleep with. Scotty led a group of volunteers that successfully qualified an initiative and then got it passed by the voters, eliminating those special rights.
Scotty’s background is in architecture and construction. He was on the Irvine and Newport Planning Commissions for 12 years combined. He then got elected to the Newport Beach City Council in 2014. Not afraid to tell It like it is, Scotty survived a recall attempt after criticizing the Supreme Court for getting it wrong when they “found” a right to same sex marriage in the Constitution.
Scotty is married to Linda, who he met at Mariners Church, he has 3 grown Children. Scotty has lived in the district for over 30 years.
Scotty is running for the State Assembly in the 73rd Assembly District. “Someone needs to step up and run against these incumbent Democrats.” The incumbent evidently cannot define a man or woman, as she passed a new law requiring schools districts to provide free tampons in the men’s bathroom. When a legislator doesn’t know the difference between a man and a woman, how can you trust them to make any wise decisions on anything?
